My journey at the Center started two years ago when I weighed about 300 pounds. From my first day at the Center, inspiration and encouragement surrounded me. Immediately, I was motivated to reach my goals. I was out of shape, to say the least, with a size 50 waist. I barely could do one push up. The Center had the tools and equipment I needed to get where I am today. Group Fitness classes and hard work on the Exercise Floor helped me lose 87 pounds. I am now a size 36 waist, and weigh 213 pounds. Recently, I raced a 12-mile tough mudder with a broken wrist. I am a “beast” now thanks to the Center.

Personal Trainer Tatiana makes me feel so comfortable on the Exercise Floor. She is very knowledgeable. I was able to complete my entire fitness program without getting dizzy or lightheaded, which is a huge accomplishment for me. Tatiana is awesome. Thank you very much!

Ever since I was a child, I was overweight. Slowly, my weight increased until I was over 415 pounds. I was so afraid I would die young as a result. I decided I had enough. I learned the importance of portion control and the effects of junk food. In September 2012, I joined the Center. To date, I have lost over 140 pounds and continue to lose. Now, my blood pressure is normal, my resting heart rate is lower, my cholesterol is perfect, my sleep is better, my body fat percentage has decreased by over 15 percent, and my physical activity level has increased enormously. No matter what happens, you must take responsibility for your health and make a change like I did, and continue to do.

In January 2012, my goals were to lose weight and return to using a cane for walking. Multiple sclerosis and osteoarthritis in both knees were forcing me to use a walker at that time. As of June 2012, I lost approximately 25 pounds and started using a cane again. I attribute most of my success to my personal trainer’s encouragement, optimistic attitude, and expertise. He tailored exercises to meet my needs and abilities. I have reached my goals. Plus, I have become more confident about my physical capabilities. Thanks!
